Abstract:
Laboratory examinations of hemolytic anemia are described. Serum bilirubin, haptoglobin and reticulocyte counts as well as taking patient history are critical investigations for the screening of hemolytic anemia. In addition to routinely available examinations, the systematic investigation of hemoglobin, the membranes and red blood cell enzymes is required for the diagnosis of hemolytic anemia.
