Periodontal therapy. A personal viewpoint

The author takes a personal 33-year retrospective view of non-surgical periodontal therapy. The frustrations of the pash have given way to the effective and successful treatments of today. Current concepts of etiology and new non-surgical treatment techniques are reviewed. The outlook for the future is decidedly optimistic.
