Summary

Cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCL) frequently express the interleukin-7 receptor (IL-7R). IL-7R expression in CTCL and lymphomatoid papulosis (LP) is associated with CD25 expression, but not CD30.

Background:

  • Interleukin-7 (IL-7) is a growth factor for certain cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCL).
  • Investigating IL-7 receptor (IL-7R) expression is crucial for understanding CTCL pathogenesis.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To determine the expression patterns of IL-7R in various types of cutaneous and nodal lymphomas.
  • To explore the relationship between IL-7R expression and other markers like CD25 and CD30 in CTCL and lymphomatoid papulosis (LP).

  • Immunohistochemical staining of frozen tissue sections using monoclonal antibodies against IL-7R, CD25, CD30, and T-cell antigens.

  • IL-7R expression in CTCL and LP correlates with CD25 expression, suggesting a potential role in T-cell activation and proliferation.
  • IL-7R may represent a therapeutic target in CTCL, particularly in CD25-positive cases.
