[Variants in the transpubic approach in bladder cancer]

The authors practiced pubectomy and resection in surgical treatment of bladder cancer located in the cervical region. The experiments on animals started in the 1970s. Clinically, 32 patients were operated. Maximal efficacy of the surgery was demonstrated in omental closing of the file or in use of muscular pedicle graft from the musculus rectus abdominis. The transpubic approach allows radical removal of cancer-affected part of the bladder in intact urination. Persistent orthopedic defects were not registered.
