    Summary

A new, simplified technique uses the Simmons catheter for selective abdominal angiography. This method provides a fast and easy way to access key arteries like the celiac and mesenteric arteries.

    Area of Science:

    • Vascular Interventional Radiology
    • Medical Imaging Techniques
    • Gastrointestinal Diagnostics

    Background:

    • Selective abdominal angiography is crucial for diagnosing various gastrointestinal conditions.
    • Traditional catheterization methods can be complex and time-consuming.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To present a simplified technique for selective abdominal angiography.
    • To demonstrate the utility of the Simmons Femoral-Cerebral catheter for this purpose.

    Main Methods:

    • Utilized the Simmons Femoral-Cerebral catheter for selective catheterization.
    • Developed a simplified approach for accessing abdominal arteries.

    Main Results:

    • The described technique allows for rapid and simple selective catheterization.
    • Successful selective and superselective catheterization of the celiac, superior mesenteric, and inferior mesenteric arteries was achieved.

    Conclusions:

    • This simplified technique offers an efficient method for abdominal angiography.
    • The Simmons catheter facilitates straightforward access to major abdominal arteries for diagnostic imaging.
