Summary

Mitomycin C (MMC) needle revision effectively revives failed glaucoma filtration surgery, significantly lowering intraocular pressure and medication needs. Complication rates are comparable to traditional trabeculectomy with MMC.

Purpose of the Study:

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective chart review of 62 patients (62 eyes) who underwent MMC-augmented needle revision for failed filtration surgery.

    • This technique offers a favorable safety profile with complication rates comparable to trabeculectomy augmented with MMC.
    • MMC needle revision presents a viable option for restoring filtration and managing glaucoma effectively.
