Summary

Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) myelin basic protein-like material (MBPLM) is rarely elevated in acute monosymptomatic optic neuritis (AMON). However, higher MBPLM levels may indicate disease activity, particularly with severe vision loss and abnormal MRI findings.
