Abstract:
In the absence of work-related injuries, major hand trauma and large soft tissue defects are rare in children, but small defects involving the fingertips are frequent. Better reinnervation and increased capacity for sensory recovery must be considered when selecting the appropriate treatment option in this pediatric population.
