Abstract:
Mutations in the lacZ gene were constructed that allowed the detection of mutators that caused specific transversion mutations. This allowed the detection of two new mutator genes, mut Y and mut M, which are involved in the repair of the 8-oxodguanine (8oxodG) lesion.
