Abstract:
The majority of American dentists do not consider implant therapy when diagnosing and treatment planning restorative cases. Confusion over the various modalities and their associated prosthetic applications may intimidate the doctor to the point where implant dentistry options are basically ignored. The implementation of a segmented, comprehensive examination system that is easily understood should be developed in every dental practice. The result will be improved rehabilitative options that are offered to patients desiring the ultimate in dental treatment. This article will describe how to develop such a document for the evaluation of potential implant candidates.
