Abstract:
A duplicate diet study to determine the daily chromium intake of Austrians was made. Ten probands (five women and five men) collected the same as they ate seven days running. The mean chromium intake of these probands was 34.5 micrograms per day with a range of 28.5 micrograms up to 44.7 micrograms, the mean intake of the women was 31.4 micrograms and of the men was 37.6 micrograms. This value indicates a suboptimal supply status and shows a good agreement with an Austrian estimation of the daily dietary intake from 200 single foods.
