In this review of scientific papers, Peter Banks examines A H McIndoe's lecture of 1941 on the diagnosis and treatment of injuries to the middle third of the face. Peter Banks works at the same East Grinstead Hospital where McIndoe was the surgeon-in-charge and met him at the end of his career.
