The role of the occupational psychiatrist

Because the primary client of an occupational psychiatrist is the organization, the occupational psychiatrist's job is to restore normalcy and productivity in the workplace by attending to the psychological needs of affected employees. This chapter addresses the psychiatrist's role in conducting individual clinical assessments, crisis management, education and training, management consultation, and supervision.
