[General considerations on asthma]

Asthma is an inflammatory illness of which the morbidity and mortality are on the increase. Its diagnosis is by clinical history, exploration of respiratory function, immuno-allergological investigation, skin tests and biological measurements that today are well-developed. Treatment of asthma must first fight the bronchial inflammation before a consideration of the etiological aspects. It uses inhaled corticosteroids (CSI), which is the step of etiological treatment, because of their good dose-efficacy properties. Bronchial penetration of CSI in an aerosol dose is often uncertain because of problems of hand-lung coordination.
