Summary

Adenosine inhibits polymorphonuclear leukocyte (PMN)-induced coronary vasoconstriction by preventing PMN adhesion to the endothelium. This effect is mediated through adenosine A2a receptors on PMNs, not on the coronary arteries themselves.
