Summary

Thyroid hormone imbalances can affect central motor pathways, causing prolonged central motor conduction time (CMCT) in some hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism patients. These motor pathway abnormalities may not fully resolve even after thyroid hormone levels normalize.
