Area of Science:

  • Urology
  • Oncology
  • Pathology

Background:

  • Cystosarcoma phyllodes (CSP) are rare tumors typically found in the breast.
  • Prostatic CSP is exceptionally rare, with limited documented cases in medical literature.

Observation:

  • A 40-year-old male presented with a rare prostatic tumor.
  • Histopathological examination revealed a cellular stroma with elongated spindle-shaped cells, mild nuclear atypia, and no mitotic activity.

Findings:

  • The prostatic tumor was histologically classified as a benign cystosarcoma phyllodes.
  • The patient underwent suprapubic prostatectomy for tumor removal.

Implications:

  • This case contributes to the understanding of rare genitourinary tumors.
