Background:

Severe substance use disorders (SUDs) significantly impact college students.
Intensive treatment programs are crucial for addressing SUDs in this demographic.
The New Jersey Collegiate Substance Abuse Program (NJCSAP) was established to provide such services.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the effectiveness of the NJCSAP's 6-month intensive treatment program.
To assess treatment outcomes, including abstinence rates and psychiatric symptom severity.
To gather participant feedback on program components.

Main Methods:

A cohort of college students with severe SUDs received 6 months of NJCSAP treatment.
A research evaluation assessed participants at a 6-month follow-up.
