- Diagnosis is often suggested by abdominal or lumbar bruit and can be associated with heart failure or hypertension.
Observation:
- A case of AVF of the right renal pedicle is described 37 years post-nephrectomy.
- The patient presented with gross proteinuria.
Findings:
- Clinical diagnosis was confirmed via aortogram.
- Proteinuria resolved following successful surgical management of the AVF.
Implications:
- The proteinuria may have been caused by a hyperfiltration state.
- This presentation of renal pedicle AVF with proteinuria is novel and previously unreported.
