Summary

This study reports the first cases of primary low-grade B-cell lymphoma of the endometrium, identified incidentally in patients undergoing gynecological procedures. These findings expand the understanding of endometrial lymphoid neoplasms.

Background:

  • Primary endometrial lymphomas are rare, with previously reported cases being high-stage and high-grade.
  • Endometrial lymphoid tissue can be a site for neoplastic development.

Observation:

  • Three cases of incidental, low-grade B-cell lymphoma of the endometrium were identified in postmenopausal women.
  • Histology showed lymphoid nodules with mild nuclear atypia; immunohistochemistry confirmed a B-cell phenotype with aberrant CD43 coexpression.
  • Molecular analysis (PCR) indicated a clonal B-cell proliferation in two cases.

Findings:

  • The described lymphomas are distinct from benign endometrial lymphoid infiltrates, which are predominantly T-cell rich and lack clonal proliferation.
  • These low-grade B-cell lymphomas appear confined to the endometrium at diagnosis.
