    Background:

    • Mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome (MLNS), also known as Kawasaki disease, is an acute febrile illness.
    • MLNS primarily affects children and is characterized by systemic vasculitis.
    • While prevalent in Japan, MLNS is increasingly recognized globally.

    Observation:

    • A six-year-old male presented with fever, sore throat, and cervical lymphadenopathy.
    • The patient subsequently developed the characteristic clinical manifestations of MLNS.
    • This case highlights the otolaryngologic presentation of MLNS.

    Findings:

    • The patient's symptoms progressed to a full clinical picture of mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome.
    • Early recognition of MLNS is crucial for timely diagnosis and management.
    • Otolaryngologists should be aware of MLNS as a differential diagnosis in pediatric neck masses.

    Implications:

    • This case report aims to increase awareness of MLNS among otolaryngologists.
    • Prompt diagnosis and treatment of MLNS can prevent long-term complications.
    • Further research into the etiology and management of MLNS is warranted.
