Infertility due to genital tuberculosis
11725 Harrodsburg Road, Suite H-2, Lexington, KY 40504, USA.
Abstract:
Tuberculosis is one of the most common causes of infertility in underdeveloped countries. In the United States and developed countries, in contrast, it is one of the rarest causes of infertility. A woman with primary infertility was diagnosed with extensive genital and intraperitoneal tuberculosis by laparoscopic exploration, and culture of tubercules and peritoneal fluid. The tubercules covered the viscera so extensively that it was impossible to identify the organs. Antituberculosis treatment almost completely resolved the disease.
