    Area of Science:

    • Dental Implantology
    • Restorative Dentistry
    • Biomaterials Science

    Background:

    • Osseointegrated implants represent a significant advancement in modern dentistry.
    • Initially for edentulous patients, their application now spans diverse tooth loss scenarios, maxillofacial prosthetics, and orthodontics.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the clinical outcomes of 3i (Implant Innovations Inc.) threaded implants.
    • To assess the success rates of these implants in a multicentre retrospective study over a four-year period.

    Main Methods:

    • Retrospective analysis of 327 patients receiving 1047 3i threaded implants.
    • Exclusion of 8 patients (22 implants) due to lack of evaluable data.
    • Analysis of implant survival and failure rates in the mandible and maxilla.

    Main Results:

    • A total of 319 patients with 1025 implants were analyzed.
    • Implant failure occurred in 9 mandibular and 14 maxillary implants.
    • Success rates were 98.2% in the mandible and 97.3% in the maxilla, with an overall mean of 97.75%.

    Conclusions:

    • The 3i threaded implant system demonstrates high success rates comparable to other titanium implants.
    • Adherence to surgical and restorative principles ensures confident use of this implant system.
    • Osseointegrated implants are a reliable solution for supporting prostheses in diverse dental applications.
