    Summary

Hypertension significantly reduces cardiopulmonary function and exercise capacity in men, even at early stages and in young adults. This study reveals decreased functional capacity and heart regulation issues in hypertensive patients.

    Area of Science:

    • Cardiology
    • Cardiopulmonary Physiology

    Context:

    • Hypertension is a prevalent cardiovascular condition.
    • Early detection of functional deficits is crucial for managing hypertensive patients.

    Purpose:

    • To assess the cardiopulmonary functional capacity in male hypertensive patients.
    • To identify early functional impairments in hypertension.

    Summary:

    • Male hypertensive patients exhibit reduced total functional capacity compared to healthy individuals.
    • Disturbances in heart rate regulation, hypertensive stress responses, coronary blood supply, and myocardial function are evident.

    Impact:

    • Highlights the impact of hypertension on overall physical performance.
    • Suggests the need for targeted interventions to improve cardiopulmonary health in hypertensive individuals.
