Mid-infrared matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS) using a tunable Cr:LiSAF laser showed excellent signal quality but poor reproducibility. Improved laser stability is expected to enhance shot-to-shot consistency in future MALDI-MS applications.
