Abstract:
Difficulties in treatment of genital malformations necessitates the application of new techniques in this area. We have designed methods of reconstructive surgery with the application of laparoscopic techniques in patients with malformations of the genitalia. The total number of patients was 587. In 29 cases of aplasia of the uterus and vagina we used laparoscopy while creating a neovagina from the pelvic peritoneum. The main steps of the operation: identification and opening of the peritoneum; bringing it down to the perineum; and formation of the neovaginal vault. Laparoscopic control was also used while performing hysterectomy through the created recto-urethral canal in four women with vaginal aplasia, cervical agenesis and a functional uterus.
