Comparative Study of Laparoscopic Retropubic Urethropexy with Prolene Mesh and Classic Burch Suspension

Fifty-six cases of laparoscopic retropubic urethropexy using prolene mesh were accomplished with at least one year follow-up using both pre- and post-operative urodynamic findings to compile data. A comparison with 25 cases of classic Burch retropubic urethropexy for mean operating room time (53 minutes/90 minutes), EBL (20 ml/350 ml), outpatient surgery (65%/0%), urinary retention > 24 hours (0%/100%), mean recovery time (3 days/4-6 weeks), cure (96%/87%) was accomplished.
