Laparoscopic Treatment of Urinary Stress Incontinence

From August 1995 to February 1996 I treated 20 women with urinary stress incontinence with a modified method replacing sutures with mesh and staples. Operating time ranged from 45 to 90 minutes, no intraoperative or postoperative complications occurred, and every patient was able to void spontaneously before discharge in 24 hours. This new approach has several advantages and can be applied by other endoscopists.
