[Diagnostic problems and prophylaxis of paraoccupational diseases of the spine]

The work concentrates on low back pain syndrome which has become an important social problem because of its frequent occurrence in the general population and different etiological factors. The syndrome also belongs to major causes of long-term sickness absenteeism and permanent work disability. The author discusses both nonoccupational and possible occupational factors inducing the disease, conditions for correct diagnosis of low back pain syndrome as a paraoccupational disease and preventive methods including technical, organizational and medical aspects.
