Agreement between peripheral venous and arterial lactate levels

Peripheral venous lactate (V-LACT) measurements correlate strongly with arterial lactate (A-LACT) but are not perfectly interchangeable. While a normal V-LACT reading is reassuring, an elevated V-LACT requires caution due to imperfect agreement with A-LACT.
