Psychiatric medications

This column will discuss the legal liability of health care professionals and hospitals in the case of a psychiatric patient who suffered side effects to his medications, side effects that contributed to his death. Although the circumstances occurred in the psychiatric milieu, issues related to side effects can arise in any setting or institution where medications are administered.
