Background:

Radiosynoviorthesis and arthroscopic synovectomy are established treatments for rheumatic joint deformities.
Minimally invasive procedures aim to improve radicality and reduce trauma.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the efficacy of combined radiosynoviorthesis and arthroscopic synovectomy versus single-modality treatment.
To compare the traumatization levels of combined versus single procedures.

Main Methods:

A prospective study was conducted involving patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
The study compared a combined minimally invasive approach with single-nuclide therapy for knee joints.

Main Results:

The combined therapy demonstrated superiority over single-nuclide therapy in treating rheumatoid arthritis of the knee.
The combined procedure resulted in less trauma than open synovectomy.
Fibrinous plaques, which can reduce radiosynoviorthesis efficacy, were removable.
