Summary

This study found that specific posterior airway measurements, not standard cephalometrics, predict treatment success for obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). Shorter airway length is linked to better outcomes after uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP).

Background:

  • Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is a common disorder.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the association between posterior craniofacial cephalometric measurements and the efficacy of UPPP in treating OSAS.
