Ileus during pregnancy caused by malrotation

Summary

Pregnancy-related ileus, a rare complication, can be caused by adult midgut malrotation. This case highlights the importance of considering malrotation in pregnant patients presenting with intestinal obstruction.

Background:

Ileus (intestinal obstruction) is a rare but serious complication during pregnancy.
Adult malrotation of the midgut is an uncommon condition, making its concurrence with pregnancy-related ileus exceedingly rare.
