[Considerations on the professional nursing language]

In the course of the professionalization of nursing a debate has recently started on the necessity of developing a specific language in nursing. The present article firstly looks at the functions of a professional language; secondly, reflects on the dangers that the use of the professional languages creates both insiders and outsiders, winners and losers, the powerful and the powerless.
