Effect of dopamine in stress ulcer of rats
Abstract:
The effect of dopamine in stress-induced ulceration of stomach mucosa employing a hypoxia-immobilisation stress, was investigated in rats. Intravenous administration of small doses of dopamine (3 mug/kg body weight/min) significantly lowered the development of mucosa erosions. A bilious reflux which was observed after dopamine infusion but not in controls may be considered as a side effect of this agent.
