Recruitment of loudness in patients with unilateral sensorineural hearing loss--an abnormal subjective sensation-is quantitatively measurable by means of objective audiometry with auditory evoked potentials without patients' help. Recruitment measure subjectively and objectively corresponds quantitatively. The only diminution of the latency of the evoked potential in comparison to the latency of a standard group is not proof of an existing recruitment.
