Alzheimer's disease: new horizons in diagnosis and treatment
Abstract:
We are in the midst of an explosion in research in Alzheimer's disease. Advances in our scientific understanding of genetic factors and pathogenesis are leading to enhanced diagnostic capabilities and new presymptomatic and symptomatic therapies. Estrogen therapy in postmenopausal females and NSAIDs show early promise, while AChE inhibitors keep getting better. Armed with knowledge and new diagnostic and therapeutic tools, we can finally begin to fight this devastating disease.
