Summary
Thrombopoietin (TPO) may drive myelofibrosis in essential thrombocythaemia (ET). Elevated TPO stimulated neoplastic cell growth and increased platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) production, suggesting a key role for TPO in ET-related myelofibrosis.
