Summary

Autoimmune diseases in mice cause behavioral changes, termed autoimmunity-associated behavioral syndrome (AABS). This syndrome may offer insights into central nervous system involvement in human autoimmune and mental disorders.

Background:

  • Inbred mouse strains (MRL, NZB, BXSB) spontaneously develop lupus-like autoimmune disease.
