Background:

- Previous research suggested a potential link between elevated IL-6 and the development of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome-associated Kaposi's sarcoma (AIDS-KS).
Purpose of the Study:
- To investigate the association between elevated serum IL-6 levels and the incidence of AIDS-KS.
- To compare IL-6 levels in individuals who develop AIDS-KS versus those who develop other AIDS-defining opportunistic infections (OIs).
