[The immunomorphological changes in the duodenal mucosa in peptic ulcer]

Results of immunomorphological investigation of the duodenal tissue, taken for biopsy at the time of operative intervention for the duodenal ulcer in 23 patients, are presented. Lowering of IgA-synthesizing cells count in lamina propria of the duodenal mucosa was determined. Deposition of IgG and the C3 component in vessels, the enlargement of IgA-synthesizing cells confirms the presence of antigenic properties of affected duodenum and the participation of immunocomplex and autoimmune mechanisms in pathogenesis of the duodenal ulcer disease.
