Abstract:
Continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) is an established effective method of maintenance in patients with end-stage failure. Because of the increasing number of patients treated by this method it is essential to study complications of long-term CAPD, treatment which are connected with high intraabdominal pressure, peritoneal membrane response to non-physiological solutions and systemic metabolic changes.
