Incidence of fracture in epileptics
Acta Orthopaedica Scandinavica
|January 1, 1977
Abstract:
In 87 epileptics on diphenylhydantoin, the occurrence of non-seizure-related fractures, over a period of 7 years, was six times greater than that found in the normal population. The significant increase in fracture incidence was found to lie within the 45-64 age group indicating that eipleptics are not only more prone to fractures but also have an earlier fracture début.
