Malnutrition, malaria and intestinal worms in young children
Abstract:
A study is reported from two indonesian villages on the prevalence of malnutrition, malaria and intestinal worms among children aged 6-17 months. Malnutrition, insofar as it is reflected by blood haemoglobin levels, was the most widespread problem and was evidently caused by food shortages and unsatisfactory traditional feeding practices rather than by disease or other environmental risk factors.
