Mitral valve prolapse in rheumatic mitral stenosis

    Summary

    Rheumatic heart disease can cause mitral stenosis and prolapse, even without typical calcification. Echocardiography and surgery revealed fused mitral valves with redundant leaflets, sometimes without systolic clicks.
