[Thyroidectomy in Aust-Agder. A 15-year material 1979-92]

Thyroid surgery for benign nodules, cancer, and Graves' disease had zero operative mortality. Complications occurred in 5.8%, with permanent hypoparathyroidism and vocal cord paralysis being the most common. Centralizing treatment may improve outcomes.
