Summary

Spontaneous internal carotid artery dissection often affects younger adults and typically resolves well. This case study shows excellent recovery without treatment, highlighting conservative management for internal carotid dissection.

Background:

Spontaneous internal carotid artery dissection (sICAD) is a significant cause of stroke in young to middle-aged individuals.
While often associated with good prognosis, optimal management strategies remain debated.
Existing evidence suggests anticoagulant and antiplatelet therapies offer limited benefit over placebo.
