Abstract:
Several new agents with promising activity in gastrointestinal malignancies have been identified in the past several years. Despite these advances, most advanced gastrointestinal malignancies cannot be cured by currently available agents or approaches. Accordingly, efforts to develop new treatment strategies continue to have urgent priority. Much interesting work has been done in the past year. The continued evaluation of these new strategies will identify those with the potential to have clinical effects on patients with gastrointestinal cancers.
