Summary

Inhibiting inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) shows promise in treating septic shock by improving blood pressure and organ function. Nonselective inhibitors of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) activity are being investigated for beneficial hemodynamic effects in humans.
